I have Mcafee antivirus on my pc and also run lavasoft adware remover from time to time and have my explorer popup blocker on the highest setting but I still get hit with popups. Do you know what I can do to block them? thanks.

Use one of the following tool bars

Google Tool bar

Yahoo tool Bar

Rediff Tool Bar

They will automatically block pop-ups.

Or if you use firefox browser it will automatically block the pop-ups.

IE-SPYAD adds a long list of sites and domains associated with known advertisers, marketers, and crapware pushers to the Restricted sites zone of Internet Explorer. Once you merge this list of sites and domains into the Registry, the web sites for these companies will not be able to use cookies, ActiveX controls, Java applets, or scripting to compromise your privacy or your PC while you surf the Net. Nor will they be able to use your browser to push unwanted pop-ups, cookies, or auto-installing programs on your PC.
firefox is the best
McAfee should have a pop-up blocker along with the antivirus, unless you don't have the full version. If not, then here's a couple things you can do:

1. Click on "Tools" in the upper left hand corner when the internet page comes up. Scroll down to pop-up blocker, and then scroll over to and click on pop-up blocker settings. At the bottom of the box that appears, it will show you the levels of protection you want from pop-ups. Click on the "High: Block all pop-ups" and then you should be all set.
