Can i deleat my Internet explorer? and if so would it cause me any problems?

I use Firefox as my default browser so i don't ever use internet explorer.

The reason i want internet explorer gone is because i always get pages that pop up advertising stuff (CID is the name that always shows on the tab) even though i have pop-ups blocked.

And i have tried using adware remover and spyware removers but they still pop-up all the time even when am not using the internet.

Please help me!

Thank you in advance

removing IE will probably not help and will cause more problems than it could fix. Adware/Spyware has to be removed permanently, it can be a major pain and may result in the need to restore your system to a previous state (restore CD from the manufacturer?)

Nope, you can remove the icon/shortcut but the actual program is pretty much integrated into XP/Vista.

What I don't understand is that if your using FireFox how then is IE even getting opened to show pop ups? If that is the case then please visit the following site and read the instructions on how to check for infections. Post your issue in the forum if not solved after performing the steps.
