I ran a reg cleaner and adware remover, ran disk cleanup and am about to defrag it. But other than that, is there anything else I can do?

You can scan your pc for viruses and a huge amount of other stuff including optimze your pc for better performance. I love this site it is free to download these programs. How much RAM do you have - and can you add more? Run a checkup by Crucial to check that. Then run a complete computer check by Belarc Advisor to tell you EVERY thing on your computer. There may be old programs, games, ISP's, other things like that, that you've forgotten. Remove everything that isn't necessary, or that you don't use. Offload it onto to CD's or DVD's if you have the burners to do that. Free up disk space, then defrag.

You can't do too much more. One thing you could do is stop a bunch of programs from uselessly running at startup and thus eating up your resources for no reason, and slowing down startup time.
